Illustrator Vector Round Icons by colormist Illustrator Vector Round Icons by colormist

It appears you don't have PDF support in this web browser. Download PDF

I don't like these, so I'm uploading them here. I would give my employer a chance to rip them apart or actually like them and use them on their website, but since I don't like them I don't actually WANT them to possibly go public on a website that I might want to use for my portfolio.

They're not bad, they're just not as pretty as the cube ones. :(

HMMMM... well, I guess they don't look THAT bad all tiny-like.

Feel free to use in whatever.

Click download to get the illustrator (CS2) file.

Hey, I'm working on an icon for my brother, but it's my first time to do it.
Can you help me out?
My biggest problem is getting that gloss look.
I'm using Photoshop Elements, but I also have Seashore, Gimp, and Corel Painter Essentials.

(Also, It looks really good.)

Hmmmmm... I'm not familiar with any of those programs. I do use photoshop, but usually only for photos. I tend to do vectors in illustrator. I might be able to give you an idea of how to proceed.

I did these icons in several layers.
The background (colored circle: red, orange, green, blue, or whatever) is a circular gradient. Dark on the outside, light in the middle. Just leave this gradient at default, which should place it in the center.
The layer in between that and the gloss is the house, newspaper, what-have-you.
Then you have the top layer as the gloss layer. It's also a circular gradient. Dark on the outside, light in the middle. This gradient you'll want to adjust so that the lighter part is toward the top.

If you look REALLY closely at the images above you should be able to tell the placement of the gradient.

Good luck!

You actually kind of lost me.
I'm new to Layers, so there is still a lot I don't know.

No problem. ;) If I can't use them, then I'd like to see other people making use of them. :)

YEEESH, I still don't like them. Too soft for my tastes--and generic. ;_; Although, they've grown less vile over the year. At least there's no reflection below them. ^_^

DA converts the AI files to a PDF file when I try to upload it. It might work as an AI file if you open the PDF file in Illustrator.

so we decided to use this button set, sorta...

[link]

that is not where the page will be, but the test site as we get it together. just wondering how you want the credit for your work to show? it will come on the about page and give you credit for the buttons as well as the color theme since i just went with the red you had and spalshed it all over.

Nice.

No, I don't want credit. It's a free-for-all with Colormist's work on these. Besides, I used a tutorial. If you really wanted to give credit, it would be to the tutorial-giver. ;)

They're not that bad, they just wouldn't work with the website I'm working on. I ended up with all orange square icons.
