I really wish my scanner worked with my mac. Still trying to figure out a way to work around this that doesn't involve buying a new mac. I do actually have new arts; I just can't share them. One day I'm going to spam the crap out of your account and you'll be annoyed at me.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

My brother called while I was doing freelance work. He had been harassing me all day to come home for Thanksgiving and I said I couldn't. He called to tell me WHY he wanted me to come home: he's being deployed to Iraq. I also wasn't supposed to tell anyone, but I'm not related or IRL friends with anyone here, so I figured it would be okay to unload a bit on you guys. When you have something that's stressing you out, you have to tell someone or it eats you up inside. He's not being deployed until Spring, so he wanted to see me for Christmas and Thanksgiving. He's not telling my parents because he doesn't want them to have that much time to worry while he's still home. I think this is a mistake, but he still lives with them. My brother is really upset about the whole ordeal and has been telling a select few people to help him through his conflicted emotions.

Of course, I'm going down now.

Also in the midst of adding on a garage to my house. FREAKING EXPENSIVE. It's going to end up costing over $30,000 (no, I didn't accidentally add a zero in there)--which was about 10,000 more than we were expecting. I'm surprised I can afford it without serious loans or lines of credit. Now I have no savings, but I'll have a garage.

This is why I can't afford a new scanner.

Other miscellaneous:
- don't think I can get pregnant
- cat is slowly dying and can't afford to take him to the vet
- employer is cutting 7,000+ jobs
